Adobe yesterday launched the Android app for Revel, the service that lets you manage your photos and share them privately with the ones you love. Revel makes it easy to sync photos across different devices of yours and works just as Apple’s iCloud.
Revel also allows users to make groups, albums and gives users a nice set of editing tools for making their photos look better. Users can post photos to their favorite social network right from the app. All the photos, videos and albums which are on your Revel account can be accessed not only from the Desktop apps but also from the Web.
The free version of the service allows users to upload and sync unlimited photos in the first month and then 50 photos from the next months. Revel Premium unlocks all the limitations and lets users upload as many photos and videos as they want.
The Android App
Revel for Android is simple and comes in holo user interface. Users can sign up into the app using their Facebook or Google plus accounts. After signing in, you will be redirected to your photos library where you can upload photos and videos. The app lists all the photos and videos that are present in your storage sorted by time and you can select particular photos and select all at once to upload.
Once you add photos or videos to your library, it will automatically start uploading the photos on cloud. Also, if you have Adobe Revel app on your Mac or Windows, you can see the real-time updates in the app. It is easy to create a new album and add photos to it. Users can mark photos as favorite and add comments. The app gives some nice editing options and it also has number of filters to apply. Apart from these, there are some other editing options which include cropping, adjusting exposure, highlights, shadows, temperature etc. It also have option to play a slideshow of the photos in your library or album.
You can invite your friends and family to contribute to your albums and you can even create groups. If you’re connected to your family or friends on Revel, the app also displays all the Activity in the “Activity” tab. Apart from all these, the functionality is simple and there is an Auto-Import option.
