iCloud is great feature that keeps your photos and videos in sync with all your Apple devices. You can access the photos taken from your iPhone on your Mac without having to transfer the photos or videos manually. Loom is an app that is very similar to iCloud and comes with same features.
Created by a group of passionate photographers, Loom is a place for your videos and photos. You just need to download the app on your iPhone, iPad and your Mac it works pretty much like iCloud. You just need to set it up once and it will take care of your photos and videos.
Like iCloud, you get 5GB space with free account. You can also get more 50GB and 250GB storage accounts for which you have to pay on monthly basis. So, for those who take a lot of photos on their iPhones and get out of space often can overcome of this problem. All your photos and videos are private and no other user can see your data.
Once you add photos to your Loom library, the original photo gets uploaded as it is on the server and Loom creates multiple versions of your photo in different sizes. You can use the Loom app for Mac and select Folders or Files on your Mac you want to sync with your Loom library. All your photos are stored in the Cloud and so that part of your phone's storage is saved.
You can also login to your account on the Loom site and browse your library. The developers are working on a recovery function so if you accidentally delete a photo, you can recover your photo back. Though once your photo gets uploaded on Loom server, the photo will remain on the server even if you delete from phone's library.
You can set passcode for the app to make the app password protected. The newest feature includes the RAW support. Loom now supports the RAW format too.
