SoundCloud discontinued their official Mac app a long time ago as there were issues in maintaining the app. SoundCleod is a nice alternative app which also supports media keys is basically made of the SoundCloud website.
I downloaded StreamCloud when it was in beta. StreamCloud is yet another SoundCloud client for Mac which let users play their favorite music right on their desktop. The app is pretty simple and easy to use. After logging in to the app using your SoundCloud account, it lists all the music from your stream. You can double-click on the song to play it.
StreamCloud supports OS X Notifications and displays a Notification bar notification along with album artwork when you start a song. Using the StreamCloud menu bar icon, you can control tracks, play or pause them, play next or previous track, shuffle and enable or disable repeat. On clicking the menu bar icon, it also shows album artwork of the song along with its title. You can log into your Last.fm account in preferences to scrobble your songs. It supports Mac’s Media key control, so you can quickly control the music without opening the app.
The app is simple and functional. The design of the app is also minimal as apart from the tracks list, it only displays the control buttons at the bottom. Users who listen a lot of music on SoundCloud will like this app.
StreamCloud is available for free on Mac App Store.
